Which exterior colour to go for with brown L&K interior..?

Featured Replies

Having been hell bent on an SE-L spec with black leather, I'm now wondering whether the brown is a good option for me, as I really want the spec of an L&K model. The only thing I am decided on is it's going to be a 190tdi DSG 4x4 estate.

Beige leather isn't an option due to my 18 month old and 3 year old children...oh, and a rather lively springer...

What colour combinations have any of you seen/got? Any pics would be really useful for reference.

Many thanks in advance.

Steve :)

I currently have a Superb II in black with brown leather. Superb III ordered in same combination. I think the brown leather looks classy.

I've seen another members L&K in that combination and it does look great!!

However, black is the one colour I wouldn't have - it's a nightmare to keep clean and where I live in the countryside it'd be dirty in no time at all.... I currentlly have a white Octavia and that too looks great clean, it just doesn't stay that way once it leaves my drive!

Steve. :)

Mine is the black brown combo

Hi,

It was your car/pictures I was referring to - it looks absolutely stunning, I just couldn't live with the black paintwork and the dirt...

Same for me but I've still ordered a black one.with three daughters washing my car is the only peace and quiet i get

I'm enjoying the Cappuccino beige exterior, beige headlining and brown leather of the L&K. It's really quite classy - def. try to look at one if you can.

Quartz grey or business grey would look great with the brown leather IMO.

Any chance you could post some pics please?

I'm starting to come round to the business grey or silver - I think the optional 19" alloys would help!

Cappuccino beige here (click link above) and here:

Some under artificial light, some in the rain. Not a ray of sunshine since the car arrived in the UK!!

When we ordered the Yeti L&K we personally thought the natural colours (browns, Jungle green, black and white etc) worked best with the brown leather.

I will post photo’s of a Business Grey L&K on 19”s hopefully on the 30th... mine does have the beige leather though.

I fear that may give me the horn!!!!

;)

That is really nice!!!

How does it contrast with the interior?

Steve :)

Well, having the beige headlining gives nice continuity from the outside to in, and the brown leather and areas of carpet in the doors plus the brown dash look really great. The whole thing just works as a package. Don't try explaining to your colleagues that you've got a beige car with brown and beige leather interior - they won't get it unless you show them. I'm sure a couple expect me to show up with leather patches on my elbows :-)

As soon as it's daylight and not raining I'll try and get some properly colour balanced pictures up.

I have brown leather in my L&K but I have rosso brunello exterior so cannot help with the exterior match. Would like to just put a ticket up for the brown leather though. I didnt choose it but the more I use the car the better the colour seems to me. In retrospect I think the beige interior clashes far more with the black elements. Plus the brown won't be so difficult to keep looking good.

All my colleages who have seen it say they like it; not commonplace interior and doesnt look 'old hat' in the way they anticipated it would.

The more I look at it, the more I'm getting to like it....

I'm thinking either:

Brilliant Silver (grey headlining)

Business Grey (grey headlining)

Cappuccino Beige (beige headlining)

Brown leather isnt my kind of thing but there was one in my dealership this week. L&K in white exterior, seats looked ok but the brown panels on the dashboard didn't look right to me. Personal preference of course.

+1 this was my main concern... however I’m not sure about the beige dash panels either  :D

I agree, the seats & Door panels look very classy but the half brown/ half black Dash doesn't look right to me. I ordered Candy White with beige interior!!! What was I thinking as I have a 4 & 6 year old girls!! I always keep my cars spotless so figured the bright colours wouldn't matter, but im having some doubts now!!!! The Black interior just looked too dark to me & I fancied a change.

Here you go.  Not my best effort as this was an iphone but this should reassure you that the brown is not so bright as in most photographs of it I've seen.

I have found that the brown/black is nowhere near as noticeable in everyday driving. Pictures emphasise it and showroom lighting also highlights the contrast. On more than one occassion I thought the top dash is not black but a brown shade of black if that makes sense. Whether that is colour splash from the brown interior or the bronzy tint of the heated windscreen I am not sure but you simply don't notice the black/brown contrast anywhere near as much as when looking at it in a showroom. Point is that it doesnt look anywhere near as contrasting as you would think from photos.

The beige, on the other hand does contrast and I think makes some of the harder plastic bits look cheaper. Another tip. If you expect heavy use then (slightly) distressed brown leather will always look better than distressed beige.

If you have a rear end like mine that is an important consideration :D

Yes it does go well, now on third Superb L&K with same colours. In my area it is a good colour for our dirty roads, mainly due to farmers and harvesters. Cars do not look dirty so quick, when they start looking dark brown in the wet time to wash.

Of course the best is (was) Rosso Brunello, but some misery in Skoda marketing withdrew it!

Thank you for your thoughts and opinions on this subject.

As I've settled on the L&K spec I have to opt for the brown leather, I am now looking the cappuccino beige exterior with brown/beige interior.

Please feel free to post any pics of this 'controversial' interior option, as I feel it may be of help to plenty of other members in a similar situation to myself.

Many thanks,

Steve. :)
