  • if they are like the Audi ones, you turn a torx bolt to adjust the hight of the washer aim, do 1/4 of a turn and retry.

  • The topic was partly covered some time ago.... I did screenshot for my future use.... Hope they help.

  • If you confirm can we have a show of hands who has 3+3 or 3+ 1? I'd rather have 3+3 and if it's wrong I expect a free dealer fix.

Whoops sorry everyone, try it now. Not that familiar with youtube channels.

Cheers. Does look like I have a fault compared to your video.

My 190 L&K Hatch, definately has 3 jets O/S the same as the N/S. If you only have a single jet either two are blocked or your model has the same jet O/S as the MKII. This does seem strange as the unit is exactly the same size and fitting. Would be most interested to hear more from other members on this.

I can confirm that I have three jets of water N/S and O/S. Pressure is slightly less on O/S. The pump is on the N/S of the vehicle, the pump on my previous 5 Superbs was on the O/S, this gave a stronger pressure on the O/S jets the opposite to my MKIII. It is possible that the longer run from the pump to the front jets causes slight pressure drop. The rear washer jets ( two ball jets adjusted with a strong pin one above the other) have a very strong pressure and water sprays along the wiper blade. This is far superior to the rear system on my last Estate, which sprayed straight up the screen so the wiper was almost dry for the first half of the wipe. Had to replace the blades at least three times a year.

I have exactly the same issue with mine, took it back to the dealers and they identified it as a problem.  They have a part on back order for me so will just wait and see what it is when they fix it.  As a short term fix they took the parts off a car they had in stock but TBH it has had exactly the same issues.  Will have to wait and see what happens.  Other than that cannot complain about anything else.

My SIII has exactly the same issue. The difference in the two videos is quite noticeable and mine's exactly like yours, L4wrence. Seems like there may be a fault affecting a fair proportion of the production.

Mine doesn't have the heated jets - not sure whether that is relevant.

Just got back from the dealer for investigation. Definately something wrong, they have ordered the part. Once it's in they fit it.

What part has been ordered L4wrence?

Don't know what part has been ordered. Will post when I have the results.

It'll be interesting to see what cures this issue. I'm convinced that the problem lies somewhere other than the nozzle itself. It seems to be a pressure issue, either bad routing of pipes or something to do with the pipe junctions / connections. Hope it's easily sorted.

that's exactly what my dealership did first time - said there was a missing / faulty O ring and they'd taken one off the superb in the showroom. I pointed out it was just as bad as before. I'm due to go back and tell them more, but will do so with the body of evidence built up here when I have a chance to do so.

Back from dealers, all fixed. Hats off to Garlands Aldershot again for it going in for investigation Monday and two days later all sorted under warranty. Now I didn't get any paperwork so I can't say exactly what was replaced but it's my understanding that the washer jet block (the black square thing) was the culprit. I have taken a video after and will post before / after so you see the difference. Service chap did say to me that this car is unusual with a mix of jet and fan type sprays. Now it is fixed the drivers side has equal pressure and is set to it's lowest position. Even then it's just hitting over onto the roof stationary. In the before video the jet was adjusted as high as it could go and it was only just hitting half way up!

BEFORE FIX:

AFTER FIX:

You only sem to have one jet now. Have a look at the unit to see if it has a letter R on it. If not you seem to have a MKII unit fitted, check part numbers.

That is the same as mine are - 2 on each side, the outer a high and the inner 2 low. Working fine for me so far

The fix is to remove the back pressure regulator at this time. That fix the problem with bad sprays.

Can you provide some more information on this? Is it easy to do?

Had mine for a couple of days, RHDthree jets at passenger side two weedy jets for the driver...

Dealer called me last night - Part is still on back order.....

Can you provide some more information on this? Is it easy to do?

It's easy. You need to replace it with a normal tube of same lenght and dimension and seal it. Probably your dealer have more information about it. Replace the jets won't help..

Called by the dealer to say "the part" has arrived and booked in tomorrow for fitting...  I've no idea as to the actual part but I am hoping they will refill the washer bottle free of charge tomorrow considering the amount I've wasted (especially over the last few days!!)

Can you try to find out exactly what the 'part' is that they have replaced please.

thanks in advance

That's as long as this fix works and we all have our fingers crossed for that ;)

They replaced the spray/fan bit on the drivers side and spent ages trying to make the distribution of water from it half decent. Personally I still think it's crap, but a slight improvement on what I had before. I now get water on the driver side, the side window and the rear screen - if I reversed quick enough I could probably get it on the door mirrors as well!

I'm not persuing it any further, the car goes back at the end of Feb.

They also did the recall as well - fuse check.

All in all, it was a 1hr 45 'drop-in session'....

Mine is going in tomorrow morning for the fuse box 'recall' and they're going to look at the weak o/s windscreen washer while it's there.

I'm only making the journey to the dealership to 'spend' my Skoda goodwill allowance after the rear wiper debacle (Getting the flip fold boot mat and boot net program).

End of Feb 2016?? That's a short ownership?....
