2.0 tfsi - first things

Featured Replies

hi all,

I should be getting my 2007  Octavia VRS  2.0 TFSI  this week, and Im eagar to get stuck into sorting out common problems before they arise.

I will be doing my own servicing on the car,  and I will be doing that as a first point of call. including a full inspection of the radius arms and suspension.

I just wanted to know if there is anything I should be looking at, like the diverter valve, and isnt there a cam on the fuel pump that is prone to going wrong ?

Is there anything else I need to look at ??

all comments welcome please.

Yes the original diverter valve is prone to splitting, there is a revision one from Skoda that is fine even when mapped and costs around £50 pointless getting a forge one . See if its had the recall for coil packs done on it as well . I had my air con condensor fail and the teeves 60 brake sensor . Bushes are prone to splitting too , and welcome to Briskoda

Welcome aboard... I think Alan has covered the main items there.... nice one!

All the maintenance checks... then a remap works very well indeed   ;)

Definately worth changing the cam follower, if this wears excessively, it can damage the camshaft. The follower itself is only about £30.

All the above, plus I would recommend checking the PCV system and looking to update or delete ( R-Tech full PCV delete is meant to be very good, I have the Forge delete kit myself)

There's a guide to checking which revision camshaft you have fitted, be worth doing that as well.
