My Octy needs a new windscreen due to a growing crack and has Front Assist but not ACC. Am I right in thinking it hasn't got a camera for ACC or City Braking as standard fit? If it has such a camera I have been told that it will need to be recalibrated. Thanks in advance for any advice.

ACC & Front Assist uses a radar mounted in the lower grill.

I have both functions but no windscreen mounted camera.

I assume City Braking is the same as "front assist" from when the O3 was first released.

 

The camera mounted to the windowscreen is only used for Lane Assist, Light Assist & Traffic sign recognition I think.

On my Mk2 the rain sensor played up a lot after the screen was replaced ( located behind mirror). It required a new unit.

I will bear that in mind. It's being serviced next Tuesday following screen replacement and I will ask the dealer to check it's ok. Hopefully the diagnostic run on the service will reveal any problems with calibration?
