Hello

Featured Replies

Firstly hello to all those who contribute to this wonderful forum, I have been lurking for a while mainly reading about users MK3 Octavia's and how they are getting on with them.

My current daily drive has given up the ghost after covering 230,000 miles over several owners, so I thought I would treat myself to a new car, in particular a diesel VRS estate......... wrong!

It turns out my wife is having the VRS car and I am getting her old car.

Anyway, can anyone recommend a good dash cam? I have read reviews online but I wonder if anyone has any that they would recommend based on actually using them long term. Also a bit worried about what I have read on here about the increase in road tax and MPG due to the revised CO2 figures, considering I only ordered the car 3 weeks ago I wonder where I stand? Again any advice would be appreciated.

Kind regards

If you serach the forum there are a couple of good threads for front/rear dashcams.

One thread shows installation instructions & photos for a BlackVue and Magic Power box I think.

There is another called something like "show your dashcam setup" with various different ones & how people have mounted them.

One thing to note with the O3 is that some people have reported that after a few months with the Dashcam left turned on all the time, the battery management system can recognise the power-drain & it has caused some issues with StopStart not working.

It doesn't seem to affect everyone but worth taking into concideration.
