Build week

Featured Replies

Apologies in advance for naïve question.

I have ordered a new Superb and paid deposit with local dealer.

Have emailed them 6 days later to ask about build week / delivery date and received reply that 'not had a build week come through just yet.'

Is this usual?

If so, how long is it usually between a dealer placing an order and them receiving build week information?

Many thanks in advance for any advice.

Could be very quick (days) or take as much as 6 weeks from order !

What I recommend is that you ask your dealer for a "SLI Order number" - which is literally the order number... should be 8 digits long and it means the order is placed with the factory.

Personal experience tells me some dealers may not process orders straight away.. for example, to suit the timing of their sales figures, amongst other reasons.

Added benefit of having the SLI number is that you can call Skoda UK or send them a tweet and get an unbiased update !

I ordered 2 weeks ago and got SLI number on the day. Called SUK this morning and I still don't have a build week either.

Hoping I can get it for 1st March.

The build week or the car?

Many thanks - I will ask for an SLI number.

The build week or the car?

SUK have said I should have an unconfirmed build week in the next 2 weeks. I'm hoping to have the car for 1st March.

I know it's unlikely with the delays others are having and the factory will probably shut down for Christmas but I'm trying to be optimistic.

The factory is shutting down for 2 weeks at the beginning of January , as told to me by SUK

Same as you. 'Factory hasn't accepted my order'. Hoping to get mine mid to late March though to coincide with my C Class going back.

Well I have been waiting 7 weeks for even unconfirmed build week so don't hold your breath

Andyoak21, is this what your dealer is telling you or have you phoned SUK with your order number. Only asking as there has been a few instances on here where dealers havent placed the order with Skoda straight away. Holding on to them to group together and such.

This is what skoda uk are telling me dealer regularly email or phone once a week to say if anything changed. So far nothing been accepted by factory with no build date. I am waiting for skoda cs to ring me back as last tie I asked for an update had abit of a moan about not even having a unconfirmed build date.

r08shaw. Suprisingly called SUK today and ive now skipped over any unconfirmed date and been given a confirmed build week of week 2.

Well I am still unconfirmed and according to skoda uk nothing wrong with order just they underestimated orders and are busy, I did state that people who have ordered after me are now getting confirmed build weeks. So was not a happy chap should be getting an update Tuesday from skoda uk.

Welcome to the team Andyoak21. Ordered mine 8 Aug had unconfirmed BW 45, due to comments on Briskoda I decided to check the complete order with SUK .just as it was going confirmed BW 45, two options inc one deal breaker were not on the order leaving SUK. Called the dealer much headless chicken dancing now have PRIORITY BW 02 unconfirmed having seen Mrmullti's comment about having CONFIRMED BW 02 I rang SUK and mine is still unconfirmed, very close to ordering that Volvo now.

Yes it is getting abit annoying to say the least my order is correct, just doesn't seem right people ordering after you getting confirmed build weeks when spec is higher than yours and I have no major options on my so a relatively std car.

raf, I wouldn't worry too much mine went straight from unconfirmed week 50 to built

I was suprised at mine being confirmed. Spoke to dealer this morning about adding front parking sensors and was told I had plenty of time for any changes. Only phoned SUK on the off chance for an unconfirmed BW. That's when they said it was confirmed and after disappearing to check about adding the front sensors told me if I wanted to add something I'd better get it done quick as it will soon be locked.

I've heard a few people now with the 1.4's getting built in early Jan. Wondering if there doing a push to get some out the door.

I think he means `wouldn't`.

Having read the above comments I'm definitely contacting the dealer in the morning to query order - been 2 months yesterday since order placed, last communication from dealer a month ago was that there was still no update!  Was advised when it was ordered that it could be up to 12 weeks due to the model being new, but get the feeling I'm being too patient and need to chase for more information!

Suspect it doesn't help that I've ordered the liftback/hatch rather than an estate, as those seem to be coming through faster...

Just got off the phone to Skoda Customer Services... I've got 'unconfirmed build week 4' after ordering on 9th Nov...
Glad to know that the order has been accepted now (based on my previous comments).

Don't need car till mid-March so not probs if it slips. :-)

Well had a phone call from skoda customer services, with now build week which is different from what dealer told me of bw 7 unconfirmed. Trying to decide what to do. Do I keep order and wait or cut and run. I am just getting really annoyed of being told one thing by one and something different from another.

Just does not make sense when people who have ordered after me are getting vehicle so much earlier.

What to do what to do.

My ordered was confirmed on the 11th Nov, ordered it the week before.. At present got a date of 28th March plus 10 days on that for pdi and delivery.

In regarding to people cancelling... Don't... I waited over 6 months for an order and then cancelled it .. Mine was the right choice based on a range of circumstances but if you are only wanting to cancel due to the wait and an element of poor comms, stick it out as they are all the same

it will be supply chain dependant. There was a shortage of a particular alloy style recently which lead to some cars being either held up or being fitted with an alternative.

Did you choose any options, or have you left it stock? If you've gone for something extra then you can bet that will be the holdup.

I have a std SE ESTATE 2.0tdi only options are towbar, space saver and boot net programme and its quartz grey. That is it no alloys or a huge long list of options.

To be honest I have only ever had one second hand car all my other have been new, two renaults, two isuzu's and one ford they have all been better that skoda so far.
