heated seat query

Featured Replies

I have heated seats but I am wondering if they are working correctly, could some one confirm if the back of the seat and the base (the part your bum goes on) are both heated or is it just the lower part of the back of the seat ?

Only my back gets warm and I can not feel any heat from the base.

Thanks

Base is gone then, regular problem.

They should both heat up.

See here: http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/315703-110000-mile-report/ as mine has just been diagnosed.

1.5 hours labour today to strip down seats and investigate.

Both seat base elements inoperative, presume burnt out.

Elements are on backorder from Germany, available in 2-3 days.

Total cost including todays labour and future replacement and refit is £429

Looks like trip to dealers is on the cards.

Price I stated is NOT dealer but independent on preset lease company labour rates.

Hi,

Just had mine repaired under warranty at vindis Cambridge, exactly the same issue, think warranty cost for both front seats came to about £1000! Now found memory function not working!

Thankfully still under warrentee :whew: , must get sorted.

I bought a carbon fibre heated seat kit for £20 and will fit it when I get a chance.

will splice the carbon pads into the original wiring.

That sounds like a plan. The front and rears are fine on out MKI after 10 years and 120k. I wonder if they're a little inferior on the MKII.

Just had the seat base heaters on wife's Yeti replaced, fortunately under warranty. Job done in the day.
