New Petrol Octavia Estate. 1.8 L & K or 2.0 vRS DSG?

Featured Replies

I did a 330km run today. Got an average of 6.4l/100km. This was with studded tyres and some snow on parts of the trip.

  • You must have been tracking my thought processes. We wanted a replacement for our old L&K but not another diesel (same reason)and the petrol 1.8TSi DSG seemed to fit the bill exactly. They're not

  • Absolutely NOTHING wrong with my six speed DSG on my petrol vRS. Never understand why people bang on endlessly about it's 'supposed' shortcomings. It changes quickly and seamlessly, that's all I want

  • I think it all falls down to priorities and what the car is used for, as has been mentioned above.   For me petrol and 4x4 were higher up the list than what was fitted to the vRS, so that ruled out

44.1 MPG (UK gallons).  damn good for a 4x4 in challenging condition, petrol or diesel.

Many personal leasing firms around now. What car has a load listed in the back pages.

Nationwide vehicle contracts has a good website also.

Check we buy any car website for a guide on your px price.

Thanks for your advice, will start searching after the holidays.

Happy Xmas, etc, to you & all who replied to my original query.

To go PCH route I guess would be a case of selling the Octavia either privately or to a dealer/trader..whichever suited best and provided the best return.

I would personally look a 3 + 23 deals....3 months upfront as a deposit (so not too much upfront) then only a 2 year commitment. Tend to get the best pricing on those sorts of deals....nice thing also is thay maintenance wise (assuming you dont go fully maintained - thats also an option) you'll likely only cop one service towards the end.

Mileage....maybe a 6k/year deal would suit if you are set to do v little mileage in it.

Tax is covered as part of the lease so you only need insure and fill it up. Maintenance covers everything else (servicing/tyres/non-warrantble wear and tear work not that there would be any)....bit like a company car entirely problem free bar you are paying for it and the VAT also.

Also in two years time you just hand it back and perhaps do the same again.

Assuming you keep the car mint and dont go silly with mileage no worries there either.
