Superb III Upgrades

Featured Replies

Well after 40 odd years I have take the plunge and purchased my first new car, Elegance Hatch due Fed 2016. I am already looking at some minor upgrades, adjustable shocks for lowering, rear spoiler, rear window spoiler for a more asthetic looking car. Can anyone suggest some good websites where I may be able to purchase these items.

Many thanks in advance.

Now on my 5th Skoda, 3 octavia's 2 superb bring on the 6th

Think you´ll have a hard time finding spoilers for a S3. Doesn´t really suit the car.

Maybe spoiler is the wrong term, something my subtle like on my Greenline.

The only aerodynamic aids I've seen on a Mk3 Superb is the rear spoiler on the estate.

I doubt adjustable shocks will be a viable option with the Superb III's Driving Modes, which already adjusts the suspension/ride settings.

Elegance? That's a non-UK trim level, so unless you're importing I'd guess SE L Executive?

Don't think they use Elegance anymore in any markets for the MkIII.  Its either Style or SE L (UK).  I much preferred 'Elegance' as opposed to 'Style' which I think makes it sound like a base model Focus!

On the question of adding exterior trim, I can understand if it was the MKII with that angular rear end but the MKIII hatch is very well sculpted and I think it would be a shame to add anything further.  Aesthetics are down to personal taste of course.

I have seen adjustable shock kits from £800 to £1400 which also lower the car, making for a more aggressive stance. As for the spoiler I have only seen a rear window mounted version for the hatch on this website superskoda.com. Prices for other parts, mud guards etc seem much cheaper.

SuperSkoda will be your best bet for subtle spoilers & skirts but it's early days in the models cycle so they don't have much options at the moment. The 19" Rims give the car an aggressive stance in my opinion so the upgrade to these may work out cheaper than adding lower shocks. Im with Superb170 on the Style name, I said the same thing when I heard it regarding Ford. Elegance is a way classier name. Congrats on taking the plunge!

Elegance is used in Finland and Estonia at least

Didn't realise they still kept it in some markets. Much classier and upmarket IMO.

Best little upgrade is the reversible boot liner (S3). Rubberised surface on one side for the muddy boots brigade, standard fabric finish on the reverse. Lifts out easily for cleaning. Very pleased with it.

If you have the boot liner? Did you get it from superskoda and can you answer if the liner flicks out over rear bumper when the boot is open or is it exactly the same size as the boot? Also does it clip in at the base of the rest seat or does it go up the back of the seat to the top?

It fits snugly in the exact size boot. A one piece layer, quite rigid. Does not flick anywhere when the boot is opened and goes all the way to the back where there is a 1" step up the seat back. I got it through my local dealer where I bought the car. Arrived 24hrs after ordering.

Thanks for the reply. I looked at one on superskoda and in the pics it flicks out on it. I wanted one to stop dogs damaging boot area when they are getting in and out..

Cheers.

Think that might be a different version you ate thinking of I have the one that flips out. It is carpet normally but then folds out to protect the boot lip and the other way to protect the seats. Not had a proper go yet as the weather has been pretty rubbish. Link below to the one I have for the estate there is another version for the saloon. http://www.superskoda.com/Skoda/SUPERB-III/Superb-III-Combi-flip-folding-boot-mat-textile-rubber-original-Skoda-Autoas

Actually it says can be used on rubber or carpet side it clips together neatly when not being used in its extended state. the bit that flips out over the boot lip is rubbery not quite the full length though. For me it's about protecting when loading up as my old estate car had a few scrapes no matter how careful you are it's easily done.
