Is it only me or, after the 2 latest maps updates  the amundsen unit no longer shows the road speed limit and if overtaking is allowed (a feature that used to be displayed  in a "window" on top left corner of the  screen)?  Not happy with the downgrade...

Have you checked the settings? During the upgrade it could be that this feature has been turned off, I can't remember what the setting was called though, sorry.

don't remember the setting name either but double checked it and de-selected it and selected it back on... with no positive result... :(

Sounds like your map update has gone a bit wrong.

Try formatting the card, downloading the update again and extract the files then copy them across again to the card.

That's my plan...  regardless the map carries that info or not... scheduled  for next weekend dont recall any error when extracted the downloaded file to SD-Card anyway... Hope it sorts it out.. sometimes it helps  on keeping  me under speed  limit

I have the latest maps installed (2016) and confirm that it does show the road speed limits in the top left of the screen (also did with the previous 2015/2016 map version).

 

Notice you are in Portugal - it isn't a country specific thing is it like speed camera warnings not being allowed in France?

I have only noticed that "missing feature" since last summer map update,until the it was shown... On Sunday  I formated  my map sd-card and re-unpacked the previously (in November) downloaded map zip-file (with winrar) just in case something had gone wrong (unpacking or copying)when I did the update... Then I've Only noticed  that it took ages for the MIB to load the navigation data... after it recognizes the data everything looks the same even the missing info on the traffic signs sadly...  I am now re-downloading the update through skoda official update site to check if anything has changed...

I downloaded the latest one last week and all worked fine.....

Yesterday downloaded map -> tested today => no difference :(  Maybe Portugal  map lost that feature, life goes on...

Today, messing with the settings under "view" submenu I've noticed that "Show additional window " was deselected... selected it back on... 

Now I get the additional window  but instead of the useful traffic signs it displays "no traffic signs available"... not sure what the real text between "" should be as I'm translating from portuguese...  I'm guessing that the map of Portugal no longer carries traffic sign data... and are still missing roads and even, at least, a 3-4 years old motorway section..

Apologies for the questions, literally got the car a few days ago (64 plate)

The handover didn't really go into if the unit had speed camera warnings (UK) or where i could get updates from.

Would you, or someone else, be kind enough to point me in the right direction (as it were).

There is another thread somewhere about firmware and software updates which are separate from map updates. Mine has never shown speed limit signs because of out-dated software.

still show the police station at the old adress from 2-3 years ago though  :peek:
