Help with a Yeti Purchase

Featured Replies

Hello, new poster here,

I'm looking to buy a used pre face-lift Yeti, a Diesel 140 CR in Elegance Trim Spec with 4 wheel drive and DSG box.

Looking though these (very informative) forums, these are the following things I'm going to look out for when I'm checking out potential buys:

DSG Shudder

EGR on its way out (any way to tell?)

Zinc Inclusions in the paint

Good service history (feel free to correct me on any of the intervals):

Service every 2 years

DSG gearbox oil change at 40,000 miles

Haldex Oil Change at 30,000 miles or after 3 years

Timing Belt (and water pump) has been replaced at 100,000 miles or after 4 years

Some of the Yeti's I'm looking at are at 70,000-100,000 miles, is there anything that usually goes at this kind of mileage? Wheel bearings, Bushings, CV joints, aircon, electrics, door seals, rust, etc?

Anything I may have missed?

I plan to check for any fault codes with a ELM327 bluetooth ODB2 adapter.

I do a lot of Motorway miles, would any one be able to give their experience of motorway MPG for the same spec Yeti?

Thanks for any help!
