On my pulsar if you disconnect the maf plug the engine won't rev past 3k it goes straight into limp mode it **** me up the first time it happened. How do you know it's not a fault with the ecu itself?

unplugged maf no difference as for ecu I don't but thought i'd have a code atleast also it was fine before engine build

Have you tried another working maf? I had an issue with the pulsar and tried all sorts, changed this and that to no avail put a different maf on and bingo she was right as rain. Just a thought cars can be right bitches.

It never threw up a fault code either which is why it took me a while to figure it out.

I've had same issues with MAPS, MAFS etc, all cheap parts from "fuel parts" hence why I now refuse to fit customer supplied parts unless from a recognisable brand and in working order. No codes flagged, just felt like someone had put a bit of rag in the intake. Also Steve basic but if running factory filter make sure air box is clear

all parts are genuine and its running a cone filter as I got another 1 now I might try maf but ones breaking either way so I got 1 really good 1

Don't bother with the MAF as it should (I would expect) be running MAP based so unplugging the MAF should make no difference.

How did you get on today?
