  • So happy to see a steveopc related banter thread again! It's been boring on here over crimbo!

  • I'm still desperate to see how the initial meet and greet goes between these two in person

  • Haha docs orders guys.. it's been a year now since I picked up a spanner but hopefully now I'm sorted having spent the last 3 weeks up here in the qe. But I love a challenge and it gives me something

There's nothing wrong with the car Steve, it's who you're letting work on it, KEEP THE MUPPETS AWAY!

m8 its been with a top audi tech in cardiff for 6 weeks been to skoda themselves also faboka been helping me out with logs its been 4mth now and im stuck in a 90bhp peugeot time to move on i had a message off faboka today so i'll try what he sais wed if it fixes it then the black one goes to my mrs

Looks very nice indeed!

A few nice optional extras with the xenons and heated seats.

I personally think 220bhp is the sweet spot for keeping a nice standard clutch and flywheel so no stupid rattle on idle or stupid heavy clutches.

A GTB1756 can do that no problem without being pushed heavily. Standard injectors are fine with that.

I'd want 220bhp with a LSD fitted and that would be a great daily driving car keeling good MPG and good power when it's needed.

got the 3rd headrest and cruise aswell I personally don't like the rattle on my white 1 is there anyway round the rattle with the gtb2260?

I'd say 220bhp is the limit for a dual mass flywheel so anything over that not really.

By all means fit the GTB2260 but just remap it to lower power, try 230bhp but keep the map as smooth as possible with a nice torque curve.

KEEP THE MUPPETS AWAY!

He won't be able to even pick it up then if he takes your advice, and never ever drive it?

Let's think back to what you usually say to people that moan about SMF rattle with high power PD'S, goes somewhere along the lines of 'tough m8,if you want the power you have to put up with the rattle'.........

5 speed conversion :P

DMF is perfectly fine at 260bhp with a gtb2260vk hell even with a good stock clutch. Where the torque comes in is the killer not bhp.

Straight from the horses mouth then really :)

Xman used to sell uprated dual mass flywheels with uprated clutches as well.

Meanwhile back at the farm, I now have a good 2.0 MPI to go with the complete ABF in the shed and I've just bought a Bilstein B12 pro kit and all the polybushes to sort the ghastly handling before commencing the transplant in the spring. RARB is coming off the 1.4 as well.

Plan is to completely sort the 2.0 running gear and get a fresh MOT before ripping the foul 2.0 8 valve out once the weather improves.

Reckon I'll have done before Steveo even starts his at this rate.  :D

you and coskev would make a lovely couple...

If I've read right, one option your looking at is transferring you existing tuning parts from your old fabia to this new one? (If you choose to aim for 300bhp).

Are you not concerned you will transfer the problem over that you already have and be in exactly the same position?

Make sure you do a project thread this time though! :-)

will be changing 1 item at a time engine wise to make sure I'm not back to square 1

I'm sure you will get there this time!! Looks like you have a nice base to build on anyway with the new car.

As much as I think the fabia looks good in white (like your old one), I think the car loses its sleeper look straight away.
