Yesterday I noticed a clean cut, rectangle hole, in the carpet of the passenger foot well. Also a smaller but same shape in the driver's foot well. They are under the seat, if you have it far forward.

I only have two possible explanations, 1. They were in the car when I bought it (2 weeks ago from skoda) 2. I had a MOT Wednesday, as I'm going to be a cab driver. They also give it a test to meet council regulations.

Anyone shed any light on this?

Is the VIN not located beneath these cut outs? I'm sure it has been in past cars I've owned. Never checked in my Octavia.

The foam or whatever underneath is cut but not so it can be removed. Strange.

I have something like that, but there is where wires for electric memory seat goes.

It'll be for a feature that isn't fitted to your car...

Etc.

When I just took the picture I noticed a wire going to the seats.

Kind of sucks having a hole in my carpet for what seems like no reason lol

Ive got a 3 day old SE 4x4 and Ive just had a look and yes, ive got both the cut-outs, though they arent all the way through on mine, sort of half scored.

I have these but the passenger side is covered by the unit installed under the seat (canton amp I think it is)
