OCULUS RIFT DK2 1080p

Featured Replies

As per the title I have been given one of these from a friend who has more money than sense purchased it on a whim and hasn't used it.

Therefore i was wondering if there is anything cool i can use it for. I saw one on the gadget show being used in conjunction with the game

Aliens and it looked pretty cool and immersive. Trouble is i don't think it works with consoles and it requires a pretty high spec gaming rig

and i haven;t built a gaming rig in years and tend to just use my laptop these days. I was hoping i could use it in conjunction with Solidworks

a 3d software package i use for work. but that doesn't look possible yet either. If anyone can think of any anything i can use it for before it gets

consigned to the loft then post some suggestions. I can't sell it and it seams a shame to sit collecting dust.

I do like the look of this game but im not looking forward to building a big clunky noisy gaming rig. Do you know if there are any suitable small form factor

case builds quiet with high enough spec without braking the bank? It needs to be small enough and quiet because i will position it next to the main TV in

the living room and it can double as a media centre.

try the free demo, its a racing game, but easy on resources so should work on the laptop. and apparently has amazing DK2 support!

Will give it a go.

There is already a cheap, Chinese knockoff going for under £20 delivered, I doubt if it works though.

It will probably be like their cars working but you wouldn't want to own one.

Actually, they make this 3 wheel ZEV shaped like a teardrop and capable of 140mph that I wouldnt mind trying out. 3rd wheel at the back, natch; otherwise it wouldnt go around corners (was the old Reliant Robin designed for the US market I wonder).
