Another 2.0 CR diesel vRS clutch question

Featured Replies

Hi all and apologies if this has been asked before (I've had a quick forum search but not found anything definite).

Our 2L CR Octy vRS (in standard guise) has 108k on the clock and I suspect the clutch is on its way out; it's liking hill starts less and when cold there's occasionally a little bit of slipping.

On my previous MK1 vRS I was advised on here to ditch the dual-mass flywheel and go for a Sachs / Golf VR6 flywheel and clutch combo, which worked worked out nicely.

On that note, what's the common thinking with the Mk2 diesel common rail?  Is there a lighter / crispy option, or is the best replacement to go with an OEM clutch?

Thanks in advance.
