3 More Sleeps But....

Featured Replies

Hi All,

That's a few days until I pick up the nearly-new car. However, when agreeing the trade in of my 4.5 year old car, I got a good allowance for the VAG problems etc.

Then thought about my stereo that I added which is a Kenwood DNX 521 just the DAB is getting a bit flaky ever since I had a windscreen replacement. They did say at time of fitting the DAB aerials don't stand much removing etc. so I was just going to leave in place and leave the original swing radio in the car!

The Kenwood is no use in the newer car of course. But then I was thinking when I bumped into someone that could remove the Kenwood and reinstall the Swing for a small fee. Gives me a few options:-

> Reinstall Swing, ebay Kenwood.?

> Leave the Kenwood, ebay the Swing

> Original plan - Leave swing in the boot, Leave Kenwood in place.

I'm very tempted to swap out, I guess looking for feedback on what the fate of my 77k 4.5 yr old vrs would be to help me decide. I'm perhaps an honest person - anyone else would have ripped it out and told the dealer if he queried it that he's been on the pop!

Thanks

I've had this recently. I did what was best for me and easiest coming up to the sale. I found that my currents car OEM stereo was worth more on ebay than the old aftermarket unit I had installed so left the aftermarket unit and went on to sell the OEM stereo. The dealer hadn't checked to see if there was a stereo there at all just got in and fired up so I think the dealer would have been happy with either... just not a blank space.

Overall if I were you I'd do the same again, price up your options and if the dealer doesn't care eitherway then just leave the aftermarket if you make more money on the OEM stereo.

Thanks for reply.

I did in the end swap it as the prices for aftermarket one were surprisingly good on flea bay.... :)
