ERG and DPF ............ sorry for my ignorance, but what are these?

EGR = Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve.......regulates the flow of the exhaust  back into the combustion chamber.  In simple terms it controls/reduces harmful Nox emissions

DPF = Diesel Particulate Filter.....removes excess soot produced by a diesel engine

Thanks for the explanation.

I agree with buying an Octavia vRS if you want performance. Why didn't they just offer the Superb in the 'Monte Carlo' guise instead of the 'Sportline'?

My boss ordered a 190 L&K first week of Jan, he spec'd beige leather and was originally told March but there is a shortage of the beige leather and now his build week is wk20.

This will be my car when his PCP is finished, I can't wait, he is easy on cars and will only be doing really small commuting mileage.

Superb Saloon 190 DSG L&K, Corrida Red with heated screen and ventilated leather.

When i was in a showroom before xmas dealer was surprised how many ppl was asking about petrol cars. They sold many 1.4 150ps and few 280ps so its not so bad in Ireland, tax rates are lower even for 280ps and engines have no problems with some emissions issue's and exhaust are not so restricted like dirty diesels (dps, srs etc). In diesel engines in this times savings are minimal on fuel and costs rising very fast if something will go wrong with engine etc. Diesels was good years ago, now i cant see any reason to buy diesel car, but that its just my opinion. And one more thing, some ppl like big cars in sporty style thats why sportline will join superb range. We have cars like s6/rs6 bmw m5 etc, but not everyone can afford car for 150k euro.

I would love to buy a petrol model but we can't claim VAT back on petrol and I drive almost 10,000kms a month. This is the sole reason why almost all company/fleet vehicles are diesel.

10,000kms a months?? Wow, that is huge mileage. You must be living in the car!
