Fabia 1.0 75hp

Featured Replies

Evening all,

Basically I'm looking to get a new 0% PCP deal on a Fabia SEL 1.0 75bhp.

I currently have a Citigo Sport 1.0 59bhp - So in real terms, If I'm right the "performance" would be roughly on par with each other? Opinions?

I'm not sure what deals people have been getting recently but this is roughly what I have been offered -

Putting £500 deposit down....

£12500 Fabia SEL 1.0 75bhp in Red

£4500 for my Citigo + they will settle the equity using the £500 deposit contribution.

£500 Fuel Card (pre-paid MasterCard)

42 months PCP @ 5k = £150pm

Also (going to see one tomorrow) but can you fit two adults in the front and two car seats in the back easily?

Are people generally happy with the Mk3 Fabia?

Thanks for any help [emoji3]

One of my local Skoda dealer's are offering a TSI 90 SE for £137 dep and £137 pm on PCP so I would say £150 a month is a bit too high for the basic engine.

Interesting, which dealer was that? It's not quite the slowest engine ;-) hehe

+ no turbo to worry about [emoji106]

It was Pulman Skoda in County Durham, they're quite good to talk to as well.

Thanks for that - So I "think" the reason mine seems higher is because I would be using the dealer contribution + some of my deposit to pay off the negative equity, so the actual deposit is only £300 vs in that offer the total deposit being £1,000 (£500 customer deposit and £500 dealer contribution)

That is definitely a good discount on the Fabia; how old and what mileage is the Citigo? We had a new Fabia 1.0 for 2 weeks on holiday and it was very nice - drove well and comparable performance to the Citigo - very comfortable. SEL spec is great too.

Good to hear it's not just me thinking its a good deal [emoji3]. The Citigo is a 63-plate with only 17k on it and not a mark on it, the dealers admitted that Skoda/VW over estimated the residuals on the Citigo [emoji52]

Good to hear the performance is on par with what I have at the moment, it's not "fast" but more than adequate for my needs and can move on well when encouraged!

Managed to get the dealer down to £145pm so looking like I might go for it over the weekend [emoji38]

I've got an Octavia mk3 but had an SE spec Fabia with the 1 litre engine courtesy when mine was in for a service. I was shocked to find afterwards it was standard no options as it seemed such a good spec! Despite a "sorry it's only a 1 litre" comment from the service guy at the start I thought it was perfectly good performance for my 30 mile round trip on a roads to work and back.

Definitely on my shortlist when we become a 2 car household later this year.

Steve.

Engine aside, the Fabia III is a very nice place to be, especially in SE L spec. I am sure you will fit 2x child seats in the rear without problem. In fact, you could also get a small adult/large child belted into the middle seat at the same time...but not a 6’4" rugby player.

The front is a nice place to be but there really isn't much space in the back. I would recommend taking one on a long testdrive and try to fit everything you need in the back.

Supermini's don't come much bigger than the Fabia III, so if it doesn't work space wise, you probably need to look at the class above.

Four reasonably sized adults can fit in the Fabia without undue compromise for the front seat occupants.

I'd add that if you can find a good deal on a 90 SE-L I'd take it, as it not only has an extra 15 hp (obviously) but a significant extra 65 Nm's of torque available from lower revs and matches (or betters) the 75hp on fuel consumption.

Thanks for all the comments! Very helpful, Although I am getting tempted by the 1.2 SE-L, I have managed to get a them down to £151pm so only £6pm difference! Very very tempted!

In all honesty could I expect 50+mpg from either engine?

At the moment I can drive the Citigo in any manner and always see 50+mpg so would love to retain the same mpg!

Yes, though with the proviso that it all depends on the type of driving you do. Our 90 hp SE-L (with my daughter at the wheel) averages around 45 mpg, but that includes quite a lot of shorter, around town journeys with only the occasional longer motorway journey.

If you regularly drive 20 to 30 mile journeys on reasonably clear A roads, I'm sure you'll see mid 50's or higher out of either engine. The official consumption figures for both are almost identical and the 90 has a slightly lower CO2 figure (107 vs 108 for the 75).

Drove a Fabia 1litre 75bhp today and the engine seemed significantly quieter than it does in the Citigo, hauled it along quite well for what is a bigger, heavier car.

Thanks again everyone!

Well I placed an order today for a Fabia SE-L 1.2TSI 90bhp in Corrida Red (no options) this will be a factory order and I'm told it should be delivered in mid March [emoji3][emoji106]

Might be worth asking the dealer to see what unallocated stock is available.

We had a choice of a two blue ones when we got ours in November (both standard with no extras) which were sat at Emden awaiting a ship. Delivery was approx three weeks.

On the other hand, if you can wait to March you will get a 16 plate!

More than happy to wait (plus this was part of the deal) as the negative equity will reduce by £200 in the next two months, which will increase my deposit and then reduce the monthly payments down to my budget. They wouldn't knock another £200 off the Fabia so I couldn't do the deal on a car in stock now :( - If that makes sense!

+ There is nothing wrong with the Citigo so I will just wait it out :)

the point it will run out of puff is motorway speeds, the smaller engines are good around town

but once the wind resistance becomes  an issue the small non turbo engines run out of puff and while you can maintain 70mph accelerating to pass or inclines show lower engine power

It might be on par if you keep the revs up.

Personally i found the 1.0 didnt have enough torque lower down for the bigger sized car, so it needed revving alot more.

Bring back the HTP :D

Glad you got a good deal and always go with the colour you want!

Well I would have loved Rallye green but I didn't love the £500+ price tag! My second choice was the Red (£175) so more than happy :) and more than happy with my Deal :)

That's the colour I've gone for with black colour concept.90 sel with a few extras.Ordered in October and should be picking it up at the end of the month.

My Fabia was in Corrida Red and it polished up beautifully. I miss that colour. My next car will be solid red.
