Tablet Stating Incorrect Password

Featured Replies

I have an Android Lenovo Yoga 10 tablet that I use for email and watching films when on trips away and holidays.

Went to use it last night for the first time in three months, and it kept stating I was inputting the wrong password, which I wasn't. As far as I'm aware, no-one else has access to it, and I was the last person to use it before putting it away.

I've done a factory reset, and all is back to normal. Just wondering how the password would have been changed.

Have you changed your Google password on your PC or phone?  Has someone else changed your Google password?

Either way - when it is changed on one device the others lock out until you enter the new password.

If you did or didn't change your Google password, you should have received a warning email from Google telling you that it was done (by someone else)

Not changed my Google password for a while.

Thing is, this was just the basic lockscreen password. I couldn't even access any of my apps.

The good thing is I now know how reset it if it happens again.

Does it contain any caps? Passwords are capital sensitive.

Depending on the version of Android, if you enter the security password incorrect enough times consecutively it should prompt for your Google password and allow you to reset it.

Did you transfer these 'films' onto the tablet or get them off the World Wide Web?

Capital letter, lower case letters and a number. All entered correctly. Still came up as saying invalid password.

The tablet gave me five opportunities to enter the correct password, then locked me out for 30 seconds, then gave me another five attempts.

Unfortunately it's a sealed battery, and it lasts for about 20 hours (one of the main reasons I bought it!), so waiting for it to die was not an option! :)

films were downloaded from my laptop onto a micro sd card and inserted into the tablet.

Sometimes the firmware can go wrong and the virtual keyboard gets out of sync (you press "N" and it reads "M", "J" etc.

If it happens again, it could be a sign of big problems ahead. I binned a year old Acer because of this, a factory reset worked twice, then the keyboard was bjorked on the number "2" forever, and factory reset couldnt fix it.

I could probably taken it back for repair/exchange, if I hadnt thrown it the full length of the house in frustration (smashed screen and the case was destroyed, but it still powered up!!!)

^ That was my thought.

Can you see any of the code you're typing in?

I've a had a problem that the screen keyboard was showing CAPITALs and writing lower case and vice versa. It was fixed but a restart.

i have the same tablet for the price you cant really go wrong . can i just ask why do you not just load the films direct to the tablet save all the messing around inserting cards.

do you have multiple cards or could you not put a bigger sd card in
