Have a strange noise coming now and again from under front of car.Sounds like the noise u get when going over a speed bump.but doesn't happen all the time. Any idea could it be the brakes.

Is your undertray hanging off?

 

It could not have been done up properly and is now hanging down.

I'm getting the same thing every time I pull off the drive. The disks on the brakes keep rusting over, drive it for a while, they clear and no more grating, then the same thing if I leave it standing on the drive for a couple of days. You can look through the tyres and see if yours are a bit rusty, as mine were.

 

With a previous car, I had a grating sound just when I reversed, and only occasionally. I went to a local tyre place and asked if they would just check underneath for me, which they did for no charge and there was nothing wrong. Just the wet weather apparently.

 

Another time, it was a cover over a bit of the exhaust that had come loose.. they just tapped it off with a hammer and said it was ok without. Not sure if these cars have that or not, this was also a previous car.

 

Best to check if you're not sure.

Got it sorted wishbone and bushel needed replaced. But now window wiper rear is working and boot light comes on
