Fabia to pair of yetis ... Mats?

Featured Replies

Just finished up on the PCP for a pair of MC fabia estates. Swapping to yeti SEL and L&K for the great price on lease.

Does anyone know if the factory rubber mats from the fabia fit the Yeti?

Also where is the cheapest place for the official roof bars?

Got the local dealer to match Simpsons - who were awful on the phone stating those yetis were rare and not interested in our Montes. So didn't make the trip.

The local dealer did the same lease deal but wanted me to take PCP which was £100 more expensive a month. Took 3hrs to sort him out. Really was shocking.

My experience of Skoda dealers is dreadful. Making buying their cars a chore or just plain slow returning to office for 10 minute finance sessions. Also no equity in the Montes. Sold a pup there.

But the cars are great.

Thanks in advance.

Are you saying the "Montes" were regarded as time-expired white goods?.

They said when I got them there would be a little equity when we finished the term for a new "deposit".

There wasn't.

They said nobody could've envisaged the impact the new one had. I did as I raised this at the time.

The irony is them trying to sell me another PCP deal that was more expensive by several thousand over the term and claiming it better than PCH.

Back on lease for £109 a month.

Skoda need to bring out new models quicker or by the time they are released they're they've only just caught up with the opposition and then they are struggling straight away.

There's a lot more competitors doing just that, and that makes superseded cars white goods.

The thing is they are cheap in the first instance which is great so I don't expect them to be worth loads at the end. But I do object to dealers verging on fraudulent sales talk when convincing you to buy.

Well they will certainly tell you what you want to hear......you just have to do your homework and be just as ruthless.....be prepared to walk away.

Hint; mention your worries about reliability compared to a ...........(Japanese brand?) that is a genuine 'contender' for your money.

Absolutely, but having never had PCP before nobody could actually confirm this equity thing. But the deals were good at the time.

Are you saying yetis are unreliable? My Fab has been perfect.

No

Just tell HIM what he doesn't want to hear.......mention problems you've heard of with the 1.2 TSI Yetis........make him work for his money.

I've gone down the PCP route on a number of cars, VW and Audi, and with hindsight wished I'd gone down the lease route.

The part-ex value was never more than the final value and with one Passat it was better to hand the car back early! It was just empty promises that the car would be worth more than the final value and therefore help towards the next car.

I have gone down the PCP route again with the TT and Yeti as the intention is to keep them but not sure I've made the right decision now with the Yeti as I may change that in 3 years time, who knows.

In three years the new prices will have been discounted due to the new model talk, depressing all secondhand values even further.

'Old faithful' the diesel is a fiction today so, if a 'keeper', not without worry.

If we weren't all so soft, an old Defender would be the keeper.
