  • I like all of those extras except the satnav. Inbuilt units are expensive to update the maps on and being sited low down as in the Yeti I do not like the idea of having to look down when I could have

  • I think the 20th century was discontinued about 16 years ago with the launch of a new range, rather imaginatively called the 21st century - I seem to recall there was quite a lot about it in the media

  • I wouldnt be without the Front and Back parking sensors , the front ones allow me to put far more lock on when getting in and out of spaces or near walls than I ever did before.

i was disappointed to learn that the Boreal wood inserts on the new SEL that I've just ordered, are no longer available as a factory fitted option as ‘illustrated in the brochure. BUT, If anybody is interested, I have finally been  told that any Skoda dealer CAN order the Boreal wood inserts for the Yeti as ‘spare parts’, and they cost £119inc VAT supplied as parts, or  £264inc VAT supplied and fitted.

After all that Mrs T got cold feet as she doesn't want to get rid of her Fabia.

Plan B is to look for a used Yeti 4x4 to px the Citigo against.

My dealer had real trouble getting hold of Boreal wood inserts for my SEL. Apparently stocks are few and far betwen since they ceased to be a factory option.

Very few factory options make a (noticable) difference to residual values. Those which always have a good effect are metallic paint, panaoramic roof and sat nav. Silly/of the moment colours generaly have a negative effect even if paid a lot extra for when new. The effect of others is neglible.

Options are a very personal thing and as most make little difference to future values you should just choose what you like/need and be done with it. Of the opinions given so far I agree with about 50% and would never dream of paying for most of the other 50%. It's your new car so you need to be happy with it.

I bought my pre-FL SE second hand and apart from metallic paint and spare whell was standard. I spend most of the time I owned it looking to add stuff to it to make it how I wanted it. When I was ordering my new SEL (which is now a whopping two weeks old!) I got the oppotunity to spec it exactly how I wanted so had the following:

- Quartz Grey metallic

- DSG

- Sat nav with DAB

- Spare wheel

- Boreal wood trim

On top of SEL spec that gave me everything I ever wanted on my old SE.

The best options we spec'd on ours were the heated front windscreen, the load net & panoramic sunroof.

If I was ordering again I would 100% add the folding front seat & front parking sensors. Never needed a car with front sensors before, but even after 2 years of driving the Yeti I still struggle to know exactly where the front extrmeties are.

Out of the options I ordered, the one I'd do with out was the picnic tables - they never get used.
