MPi re-map

Featured Replies

It may sound a daft idea, but can a '2001, 1.4MPi be re-mapped successfully?:)

Are there likley to be any noticeable power gains from such a diddy engine?:D

I dont realy want to get rid of the car, so any other ideas for power upgrades are welcome.

I believe it can be remapped, but only expect a few bhp for hundreds of pounds. You could probably get a free-er flowing exhaust and air filter, but again, not great gains. One cheaper way to increase the car's performance would be to strip out any unnecessary weight, but it depends how much you want to sacrifice :D

May be better off putting the money you'd spend on the mods towards your next car :D

Would this be the 8v or 16v engine?

You could look on www.custom-code.co.uk as there are some gains to be had on the 16v engine.

If I can help just let me know

Always thought MPI was 8v ... could be wrong though :D

Chris

I thought MPI (Multi Point Injection) was all of them.

But hey I too could be wrong.

I suspect you're more likely to be right than me!!!

Chris

This is where Lummox would help.

But SPI (Single Point Injection) is the older Felicia and Favorit and Momomatronic the even older Favorit.

Blimey this gets hard.

But hey its all good fun.

'1.4 MPi' is the name given to the 8v 67bhp engine.

'1.4 16v' is the name given to the 75+100bhp engines.
