Huh? Has that all come out the exhaust? How's that work?

yeah, what's the story here.

Apart from what most mechanics tell you about the ERG and DPF, that you should drive the car at a constant high revs for a period, every now and then, which helps blow out the soot. Are they're diesel additives that you can add once a month or something to help?

so do they put the cleaner directly into the exhaust manifold? (sorry can't look at facebook!)

Or you could just remove both EGR & DPF........

which would be illegal and a MOT failure?

Tetraclean engine cleaner goes into the inlet, DPF cleaner looks like Mr Muscle.....wouldnt need to go through the engine

The readings before/after are impressive

Visual inspection..... If it's cut and welded it'll be fine

Currently, a gutted DPF will pass an MOT but this doesn't make it legal. If it becomes common enough, the MOT might change from a visual inspection only...

When you remove the dpf the car smokes and smells , taxis tend to do it. How much is this procedure and what's that stuff that comes out of the exhaust

Oh, have you not had it done? Assumed you had...

have u had it done?

Previous Octavia had it done, faultless, in fact it ran better than before work was completed

Dont agree and I'm a taxi driver, my last Octavia had it done, no smoke, no smell. The car smells dreadful when it's on regen, remove the above and it no longer does this. Regarding smoke, again I disagree, but I had it done at a decent tuners, custom map, not your rubbish generic ones that are £150.

They don't fit them for fun , it doesn't matter who does the job , the particle filter is removed and you'll see smoke

Visual Inspection for UK MOT and you choose what you do.

Vehicle used for gain or reward and insured to carry paying passengers,

there are things to consider like valid insurance or you making it Void, but then that is a choice as well.

I had 2 cars done and regretted ot after as they stank . I think I'll try this the next time

It follows the same principles as this. It uses a highly refined fuel, which is then atomised finer than normal diesel would be giving it a cleaner burn, this in turn burns of the carbon deposits in your engine and DPF.

Haven't had it done, but when the time comes I will be trying it first.

After how many miles this would be useful to have it done?

I think driving style counts more than mileage TBH
