Paint Colours

Featured Replies

So, why are Candy White and Corrida Red now regarded as "Special Colours" and cost extra?

So that Skoda can charge most user choosers a premium without putting up the new car price for the fleet market.

I dunno, but they don't cost as much as the rest of the paints!!!! They are like £570 each!! Makes the £175 for red or white seem reasonable!!

Mind you they know people will buy them as the only free colour is horrible (sorry to anyone who has that blue colour - just my opinion)

My uncle has that 'horrible' blue colour on his Fabia but i've never mentioned it to him

Glad you did not mention it to me either or I might be distraught :(( Joe

I am feeling sad as well now.

My friend ask the dealer about the extra cost for candy white, he said because white was so popular they could get extra profit from it.

No offence to anyone but the Pacific Blue has to be one of the worst base colours for any car. The interior of a Monte Carlo really limits you to what paint colour you can go for too, anything other than the Corrida red or maybe the Meteor grey just doesnt work imho.

We struggled when buying the Fabia, did we spec up an sel which has better switch gear and nicer interior but isn't very sporty looking outside and would need the paint upgraded or a red Monte Carlo which has very marmite interior but has the looks outside. Ideally an option to spec the sports seats (quilt effect) in the Monte would have been perfect.  :|

Same dilemma for me too ! Love the external looks of the MC, but the interior is a bit bling for me.

My 'must have' is the Pana roof and that takes out 95% of all used SE-L's out there, and those that do have the roof are way more expensive that the cheapest MC's.

The only car that's a genuine contender also happens to be in Candy White and I'm not sure I'm a Candy White kind of guy ! That said I've never owned a white car. However my purchase needs to have longevity as indenting to keep this one as the family run around for a long time. Silver or Grey would be most sensible, not sure about Red. Also quite like Black and the Race Blue. How on earth to decide !

Watch Panoramic roofs.

They either seem to leak, creak or frost up in the winter.

I dont get the new craze for white. This time of year it always looks dirty.

Ha, yeh it's a tuff one, the only Monte my local dealer had was in the silver and looked a bit meh. If the deal had been right we were on the verge of ordering an "sel" but couldn't make the figures work before we even thought about colour options.

Went to another dealer and they had a Monte Carlo in red in the showroom and the interior imo does work in that combination.

My previous car was an A3 in white with a panoramic roof. :)

Your right about the White, only looks good when it's very recently washed.

The FOC blue is known as "doom blue" in the trade............! Bl**dy cheek they charge for other solid colours though. As I've said before as more and more options become standard across all manufacturers they need to find something to fleece the customers for; now it's paint and going beyond metallic colours to solid ones.

Honest, at least.

My pano roof does none of the above...but it is early days yet. I thought the problems with pano roofs was predominantly with those that incorporate an opening element, not the one-piece fixed variety a la Fabia? If mine creaks or leaks within 5 years I'll be having a word or three re my warranty. Ditto if it cracks without any obvious sign of external damage.
