Roomster electric windows help

Featured Replies

Hi

My roomsters electric windows have stopped working.

They sometime start working again if i unplug the drivers door then plug it back in.

Once they work again everything works great untill i lock the car then it packs in again.

Ive checked the door jam wiring and found a couple of snapped wires which were to the central locking so have repaired them. All other wires seem fine.  I couldn't see any corrosion or anything on the pins or socket so thats fine.

Ive had it plugged into a VCDS system and the guy couldnt figure out how to operate the windows or even check them with it.   it kept coming up with controller not found when he selected drivers door and electrical.

What should i check to pinpoint the problem before i start shelling out the pounds on new motors and modules.

Also is there a way i can get a part number for the wiring loom to my door without pulling it to bits to find the slip on the wires ?

Thanks in advance

Anthony
