Hi all. I have a 2004 MK2 Octavia Elegance

I have been trying to identify the front disk brakes so I can get some new pads, I have looked at the list of PD codes and the sticker in my book but I can't find the front brake code, I got the rear brakes no problem but the code for my fronts are being elusive.

Can anyone tell me which PD code it is?

Don't think it's there at all.

According to my understanding of this page (illustrations 61520 or 61525) your front brake PR code will start with 1Z. Namely, one of - 1ZF, 1ZM, 1ZC or 1ZE.

None of those seems to be on your sticker. That sticker is only a small subset of all the 'Car Data' that describes your unique vehicle. This full version is available from your friendly local dealership parts person (if you have such a luxury), or for a small fee, can be downloaded via erWin.

Brake size is dependant on engine size - what have you got?

assuming you have a BKD from your sticker which is PD140 you should have 288mm discs and below will be the pads for your car

Thank you, from what you have said, can I say that if I measure the disks they will either be 288 or 280 and that will give me the answer as a double check?

I'm pretty certain you will have 288mm discs as the discs are determined by engine size. Yes can double check by measuring or you can look at the shape of your pads to see if it matches the image on euro carcparts website

Cheers for that. Brakes have got to go on the back burner for now as now have a P3103 Intake manifold flap light, Its running Ok but I cleared fault and it came back after a short run it never rains....

Sounds like your egr flaps are faulty

As already stated - 288mm.

 

Brakes are cheap if you don't buy from a dealer.

The pads should be less than £20 from euro car parts and that will be for oem qaulity.

Sounds like your egr flaps are faulty

Or quite possibly the intake manifold flap.

Thanks to all for your thoughts and advice. Update Have removed and cleaned ERG and Inlet flap as per the  spot on advice on a topic in this forum from plantman, I have cleared the Error and so far it has not come back on. Next I will get the breaks ordered up.
