Good day all , I have a little problem and I was told this is the best place to ask . My Fabia 2001 check engine light was on for a few months now but with no other problem . I have changed the EGR las week and not the light is on again ... and also keeps flashing . Not ON ON just flashing. The problem is that the car now is acting funny , going underpowerd and it's bouncing ... and shaking . 

I should also mention that I have a GPL system and I can't switch to it now. so I am running only on petrol . 

 

I have tried this video with no success 

 

Can someone help me with this ?

Thanks for the answer , I forgot to say that I did it and I also reseted the sensor 3 times, after a week it comes back on ! But now it's flashing ... it does not stay on , just flashing ! 

This might sound weird, but do the brake lights work? If not, then you need a new genuine OEM brake light switch.

Just went outside to check and they do work !

Which sensor, could actually be faulty rather than just giving a false reading.

Maybe try changing them?

Will do , will have to go and buy some sensors and changing them  ! Maybe it will fix the check engine light on the dashboard

CEL flashing denotes a misfire, this means failing spark plugs, coil pack or HT leads depending on which engine you have.

Spark plugs are new ... 

coil pack and HT leads I don't know what this are ? can you be more specific ? I am a-tehnical on cars. 

 

p.s. the car is 1.4 16v petrol skoda fabia 2001

If the car is 2001 then it may have an AUB engine with leads going to the spark plugs or it may have a BBZ engine with individual coil packs on each spark plug.

I used a new coil pack to find the missing cylinder. So now I have an old bad one. And the engine is working good.

This is driving me crazy ! Since 3 days now , every morning the check engine light flashes for like about 20 km , then it stops ! It;s not gone , it's still there , but not flashing anymore. the only think that is not changed are the sensors on it. Should I do that ? How much are they?

I have an 1.4 to, and I am planning to by a used coil pack, to be sure on driving. 

It is also a quick job to take an analyze with a fault code reader.
