Brakes and wheels

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I've got a pair of Brembo brakes with the correct runners and 312mm dics.

If I get some spacers will my standard vrs 16" wheels fit over the calipers?

Can't see it myself even with spacers.

What Brembos are they they?

I know the leon cupra brembo's need spacers to fit on 17 " spiders.

When using 323mm discs, I believe.

It is possible to get Porsche brembos with 312mm disks under 16's but it is very tight and you might need spacers (depending on offset), but you might as well just get the 323mm disks and 17's.

Id definitley be more inclined to get better brakes if they fitted under 16" wheels.

the ride difference between 16" and 17" wheels is quite alot! i wouldnt want 17" on my vrs anyway.

The ET on my wheels is 42

ET isn't really the issue, it's usually spoke back clearance on the wheels.

You'd have to measure it or "wing it". Personally, I reckon you'd need 20mm spacers...

Sorry what part am I sapped to measure bit of a dim moment.

Was thinking of bolting the calipers to the hub and get some spacers to fit and then buy the ones I need but will it be to wide for the wheel?

Depends on what calipers you have.

Boxster, front or rear?

As above spoke clearance is the issue.

16 inch VRS alloys will clear my 6 pot Tarox calipers and 323mm discs, but need circa 15mm spacers which made the wheels sit out too far in the arch.

what Coskev said ^^^^^^ :)

i got 330mm discs with tarox 6 pots and 17" spiders with no spacers

My first TD pro race 1.2's in a 7x17 wouldn't clear my Tarox calipers without 12mm spacers, but my current TD pro race 3's in the same size and offset have losds of caliper clearance without any spacers.

So spoke design/clearance is what you need to check.

323mm discs, about time you bought a new tape measure :)

The Tarox do not stick out as far as the Brembos mentioned above.

Lol,they are 323mm Cupra discs :)

Next time you measure them do it from the rear of disc,so your tape measure is flat across the disc, measuring over the raised hub part of disc will over read.........

cupra discs are 2 piece then yeh? lol and they are 330mm i know how to measure thing ya tool
