I went with this, I haven't put it on yet. I need to get the car cleaned up properly and then be in a position to heat the adhesive before applying. The quality appears to be good though and a fraction of the price of a pre cut one

My car is also black. I used this http://www.rearguards.co.uk/index.php?app=gbu0&ns=prodshow&ref=RBP242&sid=62v13g758hr1ga12u09pya8ru8z663h5

It fits my MkII FL vrs perfectly although the one below is shown as the correct item

Cost less than the one shown by the OP. The company also sell stainless versions.

That looks like a good one, lots of protection on the edges too

Thanks. This is the VRS mkIII option and looks almost identical to the standard part code I'm sure...

Occurs to me I may have some nice black carbon vinyl somewhere as a different (free) option ! But a pain one as I would have to be purposefully cut to suite, and could stick out like a sore thumb possibly.

My prior Mondeo had this which basically is stitched to the boot carpet and can just be folded out when loading or unloading the car. Wish the VRS hatch had similar.

The Rearguard photo and the one in the firts link are the same?...

but I've fitted Rearguard ones to my Octy and SWMBO's Up - also door sills on that. Excellent, the silver one on the Octy looks OEM, just a pity they don't do them in red for the Up, so we went for black.
