Can smartgate be fitted at the dealers? I ordered an l&k and thought it comes with it but I does not.

Yes, but you can also buy it and fit it yourself. I believe it goes under the driver's seat.

Plug and Play.

On the Skoda web site it looks like a small plastic box that just plugs in,

 

 

but I've seen similar sold on third-party sites that have a mass of wiring that needs to be connected. I don't think you need that type.
