Engine heater connector blocks daytime running lights change

Featured Replies

I noticed that the engine heater connector on my car is fastened to the plastic detail on the inside of the lamp assembly where the daytime running lights sits. This plastic detail needs to be removed in order to change this lamp. Is this the correct place to put the heater connector? Is there an alternative way of changing the daytime running lights? I have no problem removing the plastic detail on the right side.

I tend to stick an old credit card into the gap between the bumper and the lamp cluster to remove it without removing the lower grill.

It slides in the almost vertical section just to the left of the arrow on the image you posted. It does bend the credit card in the process so don't use one you care about :)

Who fitted the engine heater connector?

Hopefully they left enough slack on the wiring behind the panel to allow you to remove the panel properly.

Your arrow is pointing to the fog light rather than the DRL too...
