Alternative to Remus exhaust - idea ?

Featured Replies

Sort of continuation of the thread about the resonator removal.

You know Remus do a stealth but for megabucks. Got me thinking ( full pikey hat on )

Their kit is a full sport kit but with electronic cut off....other people do full kits but without the cut off, could be quite loud, or too quiet depending.

( to be honest I'd be happy with it sounding a bit closer to a GTI )

Seems quite common on the big 'mercun cars, they have 3" bypass/valve kits.

So, anyone thinking along the same lines as me? Maybe where to just get a single electric or even manual cut off valve?

I guess then you could be a bit more flexible and have the balance of sound plus quiet when you want, without the big price !

or possibly keeping almost all the standard exhaust but for replacing out some of the middle noise absorbtion section ?

TBH with still under warranty I'm kinda thinking do nothing for the minute anyway, but have less then 1.5 yrs before this runs out and would definitely want to liberate more noise than this on the Skoda equivalent of a Golf Gti/R

There is an american company that do a electronic valve for the golf, Doesn't (IMHO) look that nice but it's under the car so who cares right? Slots in from the down pipe with a butterfly style valve.

I've been looking about and apart from bypassing the only option is like REMUS, I like the idea of having a quiet(er) system for everyday used but when you want some fun, to be able to have a sound that te car in my opinion deserves.

See here:

I've came accross a fabricator in Russia in the name of e-tun fab (has an instagram and youtube account), they seems to love installing valve on almost all the exhaust systems they have built, some with a cut-off as well.

The exhaust place jetex don't currently have one of these valves but apparently looking into it.

Quite a few options under various names on ebay also, under the guise of cut off/valve etc (some manual, but electric obviously really is the ideal)

Watching that video and the concept is better discussed here:

- makes me realise this just isn't what I want.

Louder, yes. WFO - no!

The problem I see with these is its meant to be literally WFO on the exhaust. I was just thinking of possibilities were similar to remus but I realise now their butterfly valves must be finely controlled to be part open, then wide open ?

Those Y valves are meant for like, literally wide open versus normal exhaust. Far too extreme for me I think, except for a track/run day obviously,

Although on the Remus I don't really like the concept of such a restricted system.

I think I'd be interested to know what exhaust components they have on the 230 instead
