Superb III 190 AWD vs Octy III 150 AWD

Featured Replies

Hi from a "visitor" coming from the Octy planet (Octy III, 2.0 150 AWD)

This morning I visited my garage to have a couple of new tyres and an ECU sw update and had time to give a proper look to the new beautiful Superb.

The new 190 DSG AWD is very tempting to consider as my next car

Is anybody coming from an Octy AWD willing to share his feedback or impressions?

Thank you,

We're awaiting delivery on a 190 4x4 DSG estate (next couple of weeks).

I'll let you know once it arrives and I've had a proper test drive.

Hello Wag,

for some reason I miised your answer.

So, did you get the SUPERb ?

How does it run?

Ste

Mmmmmm........I was going to do a new post telling the full story, but I'll begin here....

we went to pick up the car, wife's sat in it with the sales guy explaining what all the controls do, I have a wander around the outside admiring the lines, then ask where the 4x4 badge is. Turns out they've ordered the wrong drive train. Consequently we've currently got the 2wd 190 DSG version while they build the correct spec (next week hopefully).

The only good news is I  added a factory tow bar to the new order so I can pull a motorbike trailer once I get the old bike rebuilt.

Dealer has been very good considering the ****-up.

The 190 engine is a bit much for 2wd in the wet, but it does get down the road sharpish. The 4x4 should be awesome. The car generally is as its name suggests, SUPERB!

The only thing I'm not keen on is the stop/start system, but the gearbox and engine are great so far.

Just wondering whether it is possible to disable it without going down the VCDS route?

Yeah you just press your finger on it ;-) .... At least that's what I do.

Friend had that many years ago - Audi dealer ordered a 3.0 TDI A6 instead of 2.0 TDi A6. They let him keep it for the same money.

Hope they have accidentally fitted 4x4 to mine Ha ha

I thought I had ordered a 150 manual but a few weeks later I double checked the SkodaUK  order and It was a 190PS manual, so checked the dealers order and it was the same, so a quick phone call and I eventually went for the 150 DSG, it did add about a month to the wait.

When I went to pick my 280 up I discovered that they had actually ordered me a Jaguar F Type 'R' which they let me keep at no extra cost !!
