brakes fading.......

Featured Replies

after driving nearly 11000km in my vRS my brakes has started fading,

i have tried that they loose effekt after driving it very hard on a little twisted road but today they where all noisy and had no effekt at all.

anybody else experienced this

maybe its time for the 312mm upgrade..........

just cant seem to find the calipers in green from the octy RS so i migth have to buy them new:thumbdwn:

anybody seen soom on ebay or somethin???

check the for sale section. Or you can get some Audi TT 312mm off ebay and paint them green. Use the search to find out more ;)

If they are making a grinding noise & not really stopping you it may be that the pads are worn out down to the metal. In track use the stock pads last about 1000km & do not fade easily if correctly bedded in.

As for the colour - hammerite smooth green seems to be a popular choice, have a look in the 312 mm conversion article(s) it's got pics etc ;)

Painted Mine Hammerite smooth Green:) ..........................Just as good if not better:thumbup:

Have you tried changing the fluid first. I know mines in urgent need of a fluid change. Brakes are utter crap at the moment.

I keep seeing these threads and wonder - what on earth are you doing to get brake fade. I've never ever had brake fade in my Fabia. Never. And i only use the car for enjoyment. Bedded in properly, they should work flawlessly, time after time, repeated use on a hot day in a desert shouldnt even provoke fade.

And without knowing shifty's driving style, i.e. not in person, from the posts I've seen him make since I joined here a while back now, he doesnt strike me as hanging about ;)

I'll come and show you if you like :D

Blackpool to Abingdon = 200 miles........... i'll be there in just 90 minutes ;)

I'll text you when i hit the M40 to get the kettle on.

*For sense of humour deficient readers - this is a JOKE ;)

It CAN be done... even with 312mms (says the guy whose ruined set of discs number 3 in a year):D

 - I dont have a sense of humour, good you put that note there then :P

Looks like I won't be able to get any of my stuff fitted this year due to the company having moved my holiday (due to circumstances, they didn't want to do it really but...)

PS - if you can do it in 90 minutes it's no wonder you don't get brake fade - you wouldn't be able to use them :P :P :P
