This April might be last Combe Track event

Featured Replies

Some slightly disappointing (potential) news from Combe.

Whilst battling to keep cost down for the event on 2nd April, long term the cost will be rising to what look like between £62-£63 per person for entry, two track sessions - which will likely be the summer event cost. Personally, in light of being able to get full days for £99 - £140 depending on time/etc, paying £63 for 2 15 minute sessions (15 minutes if lucky) is a bit OTT, and would probably not even bother myself.

Therefore, I have decided if the cost is that for the September summer event, I will be sorting out a clubstand for the day (£15 per car in advance, up to 4 people in each car), but no track element unless people want to book individual slots themselves.

Sad times. :(

Sad indeed, there have been some good days.

It is a long way for some of us to go for some 12 minute sessions, but always fun to meet up with people.

If this happens I will look at doing a few more track days, as I've started to do a few with group bookings and post them here.

and as you were so keen, if it does happen I will be refunding you as you paid up front for both this year. :)

I'd definitely be up for doing more out and out days.  Brands was great - possibly no.1 trackday for me so far, more so for the company and the crack, than the driving. :)

That's a shame, as Combe is a great opportunity for N00bs to pop track cherries so to speak.

Fond memories of chasing down and passing a pesky corsa on my first or second outing there.

There may still be mileage in using it as a base for a 'social' meet rather than track focussed, as this has always been a great part of it for me and family, track aside.

That's what it would end up being as £15.63 for a car and up to 3 extras passengers is a fairly good day out.  4 people in a car = sub £4 each.

This is exactly right. Massive shame but if we ca. Get a open pit lane day for £150 it makes sense! I need to get on track a few times this year so let me know of any that come up!

All good things come to an end. Without a Briskie session I won't be booking slots, so I may not go in September.

But as above, at only £15-16 for a car with up to 4 people, it makes a cheap day out, if for nothing else but to what numpties stuff their cars :P

The Bossfox organised open pit lane track days are epic. Totally safe for noobs. Opportunity for tuition in a relaxed and fun environment.

I'm still 5 short on this April's track sessions which is a little concerning. :)

£135, full open pit lane day in May.

Well if this is the last it's a good thing I've at least had one chance at going on the track :)
