New bump stops or more?

Recommended Posts

Hello,

so both sides on my rear shocks look like this. I'm guess I need new bump stops but how many miles can you get out of the rear dampers - the car is currently on 98k and I'm wondering about just swapping them out while I'm doing the work.

Might as well since the shocks have to come off anyway, but you don't need to replace the bump stops, you can simply wind the broken end into the boot and refit them. That's what I did and it works a treat, the boot actually sits in the groove nice and snugly.

I never thought of doing that. I wonder how long it would last before that part drops off as well though.

Well I fitted new ones which will probably last the car until it goes to the great scrapyard in the sky.
