  • With 22 pages of thread to read through, I must confess I haven’t bothered BUT have actually now had a test drive of a Model 3 and thought I’d share the impressions here.   As a background,

  • I got quite angry about the luxury car tax thing yesterday morning and cancelled. If they can bring a version in under that 40k threshold I might jump back in. Keeping an eye on the VW ID too.

If a “Twitter nanny” is needed for Elon does Trump need one too?  -

Will Elon Musk be forced to leave Tesla? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-45674603

There is a place for Blue Sky thinkers but maybe not running the business for shareholders with childlike business knowledge.

Do what you're good at but employee real professionals to manage the business financially, technically (where appropriate) ,legally and above all know when too seek their advice.

Shooting from the hip reminds me of a certain D. Trump.

We popped into Tesla in Edinburgh in the Expensive shopping bit Multrees Walk , first time I have actually looked and sat in any Tesla and got to admit I was pretty impressed, we were in a model s and quite comfy, controls feel good quality , not a fan of the huge iPad thing but my four year old son loved it, I felt at the time the drivers seat could come closer for me, we got speaking to the saleswoman who was saying the new model is due next year.

he is now CEO and certainly not dead.

Don't you just love the double standards in the law and status / class society . Mr Ordinary Joe Bloggs would have been in clink by now.

Full backing of D Trump no doubt.

sadly the "short sellers enrichment committee"  has caused more damage to shareholder value than ANY of EM's  somewhat injudicious tweets.   It may well be "seconds out"  for  a second round------unfortunately.   re: the fine I understand it amounted to 1.5% of the uplift in his personal holding (which was as result of the increased share price once the matter was "settled" ),   which would suggest  he didn't do it for the money.

I think it’s fairly well known that the factory output was the immediate priority to satisfy those who gambled on Tesla failing.

Distribution issues were flagged by Musk when he promoted the idea of manufacturing his own transporters.

Dealerships have been primarily glitzy shopping centres rather than the norm AFAIK.

All part of the industry disruption I guess.

(it pays to know who own the publication reporting the story too)

At least it’s more practical than the new Holden Commodore/Insignia.  It won’t ground its belly on the road kill.

I wonder how expensive comprehensive insurance is for a Tesla v Leaf ?.

We went to Euroa and checked out the Tesla rapid charging outlet  - 30 min max.....and no vehicles there.  Melbourne to Cairns is already covered.

Tesla are investing in infrastructure to enable salespeople to satisfy potential customers that they won’t get stranded it seems.

Nissan are apparently taking the same approach now.

Things are about to get serious.

Melbourne to Cairns, 2,900 km.   Bit of a jaunt.

Every more If starting from Adelaide.

What is the story then in Australia,  fuel prices, tax etc.

Is the government going to make it worth while buying and using EV's?  What is happening with the purchase price of them, and charging costs etc?
