  • With 22 pages of thread to read through, I must confess I haven’t bothered BUT have actually now had a test drive of a Model 3 and thought I’d share the impressions here.   As a background,

  • I got quite angry about the luxury car tax thing yesterday morning and cancelled. If they can bring a version in under that 40k threshold I might jump back in. Keeping an eye on the VW ID too.

Any UK price OTR for the UK will be a guess for mid or later 2019 / early 2020 or whenever delivery.

Nobody knows what might happen with tariffs and Imports from the USA, or the exchange rates...

Pricing for some European Countries not including the UK which is a European Country.

june july   but re price /brexit etc   direct  import?    interesting to watch

I sat in the one in Stockport yesterday and absolutely loved it. Loads of room. Particularly good headroom (unlike the X).

Well, my son liked it ;)

Wife also liked the interior space, she veto’d the S due to lack of interior storage.

I was also allowed to try the buggy inside the boot for size. The boot floor area seems identical to my Skoda Octavia. It is not as tall as Octy, hence less volume on paper.

I do wish that someone would do a floor it and slam the brakes on video.

As some might need to do as the vehicles in front are stopped or only manage 0-62 in 7.5 seconds.

Seat belts being optional.

Most Favoured Nation rate for the EU is 10% AD Valorem for cars whether Electric, Diesel or Petrol or whatever...  https://www.trade-tariff.service.gov.uk/trade-tariff/headings/8703

If the UK did not adopt the EU's tariff once it leaves the EU it would need to treat all WTO Members the same ie EU, US, China, South Korea etc, until it gets Trade Agreements in place and they tend to take a good while to do so ie years rather than months.

Lowering the duty rate much below 10% could damage JLR here in England/UK who have their own similarly priced EV .

We await with baited breath what the Hell the UK "government" is going to do with all 10,000 or so tariff rates post BREXIT.  Business would like to know so they can plan for their future in the UK or wherever is most economically beneficial to be.

Or, indeed, if the Edison could prevent its own operator from being a tailgit!

Agree

I have noted it doesn’t get you there earlier.

Quality issues at delivery.

I don’t understand why Government hasn’t stepped in and demanded a charging standard adaptable for all e-vehicles.

This incompatibility issue was obvious from the start.

Was it a way of running dead on the issue of lost revenue?.

I wonder how many have been registered in Hong Kong.

I do wonder about that,  on a brighter note I see they have Formally "broken ground "on Gigafactory 3  in Shanghai   whilst it is already fenced and leveled, what caught my eye was the Mains electric has been laid on, in approx 30+ DAYS,   what passes for normal in china is apparently 80 days,      wouldn't even get the ink dry on the paper round here    not to mention elf and safety
