Looks like mine, but I wasn't on that stage!! I saw another Yeti as well over the weekend - at least four then.

Missed you at Legend Fires John, I was at Lytham Hall.

Cough!

Yes it is.

I'd moved up because the snow was so thick I couldn't see the numbers.

Good to meet an honest man Graham! I guess your bit of the track was probably wider than it appeared from the camera angle, but it did look a touch hairy when one or two overshot the hairpin. At least you had your headlights on!

Jerry will no doubt agree that the current fashion of allowing small car numbers isn't working terribly well, particularly as the light fades/cars get dirty. Small numbers on the side windows rather than bug numerals on door patches are not making life easy for radio crews trying to complete checksheets.

And yes Jerry, I missed you too on NWS. I was running F/F & Stop area at Weeton once again. One of these days we shall actually find ourselver at the same venue. It was good to see the red Monte Carlo with the vector lamps on top as Specator Safety car - it was driven by one of the scrutineers from my events at Aintree. He's also a Land Rover Experience trainer and his colleagues were very surprised when he suddenly changed from a L/Rover to a Yeti for his own vehicle. He says he's had no regrets so far.

Keep up the good work all.

John,

The Box junction was a fair distance from the actual junction, and until that point no-one had got anywhere near it. When the snow started to come down I missed a couple of numbers, so assessed the situation and moved forward. That was the reason I was tucked in towards the side of the track. If I had stayed at the recommended distance i would have seen nothing.

How the hell they coped on Saturday night I do not know.

The new numbers are useless!! Even big door numbers wouldn't be much use after 18 miles of Hafren, but at least decent hi-vis numbers on the side window helped. We need them bigger, brighter and consistently positioned. Some I saw at the weekend that were half on the window, half on the roof. These are useless, but will anyone listen to us?
