Superb 2 4x4 whining in rear ..probably right side

Featured Replies

Hi

Any idea what could cause whinning precisely at only hearable at 100km/h in rear and according to my son on the rear right side.

What is important it's hearable only on D and 6 gear ..not in S (100 km/h in that position is on 4 gear)

Haldex oil changed according to skoda schedule

Thx

Try switching the kids left to right and see if the whining moves ;)

No rather not...he opened rear seat and went into the trunk to hear better ... not wise but measure was more effective ;-)

Wheel bearing?

Saw toothing tyre?

Rear diff wear?

How old and how many miles has it done?

Request remains ...share your suggestion please

I thought about wheel bearing but why only on 6(D) not 4 (S)?

Different amounts of engine and road noise might be hiding the noise.

I'm assuming the RPM is lower in 6D than 4S and therefore the interior is quieter?

Tyres, check for odd wear then swap them around to see if noise moves
