I think my Yeti may have gone bog eyed!

Featured Replies

My LCI Yeti Elegance has the intelligent Xenons that corner etc.

Last night it was quite foggy. On start up the lights did their normal little 'dance' but while driving I'm convinced the off side light was sending the beam to the right rather than behaving as it should. Is there any way to check the intelligent headlights are working properly without a visit to the dealer?

No oncoming traffic flashed me, but it just didn't seem right.

I think the clever lights alter their spread to cover both kerbs in an urban environment,

read your manual to verify this.

I used a quick and dirty check using bins but you need to know the no load beam

centre heights and mark the beam centres with tape, just a cross would do.

Read and digest the manual instructions first.

Thanks - they certainly look ok on the garage wall. I was on a country road but travelling fairly slowly because of the poor visibility so the car will have behaved as if in an urban area. I'm aware that they go low and wide at low speed. The trouble is, because they vary according to speed, whilst stationary you can't tell if one of the lights is behaving strangely when on the move.

However, it did seem the beam was pointing up and to the right rather than down. However, first time I've driven the car at night in fog so nothing to compare it to.

Wasn't the front cornering lights coming on as well, was it?

No definitely not them Graham. Going to quick for them and I'm familiar with the light pattern they shed. In fact at one stage I had the fog lights on (which double as cornering lights) and you could see it wasn't them.
