Cheers for that link wino, took me ages to figure out what plastic cover you was on about, but I know where it is so next weekend ill have a look but its gunna be a messy job because the rocker gasket is leaking and its capped in oil by the looks of it

Might be able to see the connector and wiring from above on the MPI, not sure.

The fact that your battery light comes on suggests that the blue wire is intact, at least.  Does the battery look old? Any date on it?

Battery looks new-ish but can't be certain, can't find a date on it though

You should get it tested. Some dealers have a tool which is able to print a diagnostic bulletin with the battery status(cranking amps figure is what you need to know).

Hi all, its been a while

Since my last reply I've changed the following:

Oil pressure switch as i kept having the beeping oil light

The rocker gasket as this was leaking it one corner

And the crank sensor

I've still got the poor acceleration problem, its been made better after the sensor change bit still not perfect,

I'm wondering if a blowing exhaust has an effect on acceleration as its blowing just before the flexi

Also, I've gained a water leak, had to fill up the coolant tank thing yesterday, and top it up today,

I noticed that there was a bit of back pressure when I took the cap off today, is this normal.

I read somewhere that water loss and poor acceleration can be a sign of head failure. I hope not as this will be the fourth car in a year I've bought with a knackered head

But there's no mayo on the oil cap or dipstick, temperature stays at half way all the time once warmed up

Cant find that wiring under the car @wino, might be because its totally saturated in oil, all under the car, i think the sumps leaking, if that's what the big thing held in by a load of bolts under the engine is(clueless me), either way its looking like a very expensive do.(might cut my losses and run it into the ground and start fresh :( )
