Basically I want to lower my VRS estate and I'm undecided on make of springs.

 

I did toy with air ride but I'd rather spend the money on a bigger turbo, Then I wanted Coilovers but I don't want the ride too firm.

So I've now decided on shocks and springs, I will be fitting Bilstein B8 shocks all around but can't decide on springs.

 

It's a VRS estate on 19's. What make and drop are others using on here? Pics would be good.

im running eibach 20mm drop on standard shocks, nice and subtle and ride quality is spot on

I too am running the eibach pro kit (20mm) and I wouldn't really call it 'low' but boy oh boy does it handle nicely now!

Eibachs and Bilsteins are designed to go together and work perfectly, I've got Bilstein B6's and Eibach pro kit 30mm drop. 

I'm not too sure yet. I intend on parking on flat ground and measure the front and rear arch gaps to see how low I think it needs to drop.

I'd guess maybe 40mm front and 30mm rear.

To get that kind of drop on the RS you'd need to go for coilovers.

What about the h&r 50/40 kit.

Around 50mm but the VRS is lowered from factory so you would need to take this off any quoted drop unless the kit is specifically for the VRS only.

Eibachs on mine,still a nice comfy ride

I've had experience of; Eibach, H&R monotube, and KW V1 coilovers and all give near standard levels of ride comfort even with a decent drop (the 40mm) you're looking at. They aren't cheap but you get what you pay for.

 

People seem to think that coilovers automatically mean a rock hard ride, but if you do a bit of research and are prepared to pay for a quality manufacturer you'll get a good quality comfortable ride.

We have the H&R -50mm Cup Kit and a Whiteline RARB (both from Damian). The VRS lowered around 20mm and has good handling and ride quality. Great to drive.
