first MOT after blueflame full system

Featured Replies

well got my car MOT'd for the first time yesterday after geting the blueflame turbo back system including sports cat fitted and tbh i was a bit dubious about what the emissions result was going to be, especially after getting a couple of fault codes logged which mentioned the cat.

but it sailed through the emissions test and gave very low readings indeed

from what i can remember it was 1.002 where you need to be within .97 and 1.3 (i think), where your allowed 20%(i think that s right) and 32ppm where your allowed 200ppm so its all good :D

but well happy that it passed on that  to blueflame for a good system, the only comment on the mot was one tyre being near the limit so thats getting changed in the week, possibly a pair :)

It's always a good feeling when your car passes it's mot!

I'd change the pair rather than just one if it was me. ;)

 TDIs do the same with no cat at all. ;)

Quote from Owner's Manual: For road safety reasons, do not replace individual tyres if possible, but at least both tyres on the same axle. The tyres with the deeper tread should always be fitted to the front wheels. (But the latter is the opposite of the advice from tyre manufacturers)

Only combine radial tyres of the same design, rolling circumference) and, if possible, same tread pattern on all 4 wheels.

That advice apart, as your car is a 4X4, bengie, I would definitley recommmend getting a pair of tyres.

Was that with a 100cel cat or a 200cel cat Bengie?

to be honest dave i have no idea, its what ever blueflame fitted as standard, i'll go dig out the reciept to see if it says.

well i found the reciept easily enough but sadly it doesn't say, think i might e-mail them and ask :)

forgot to say thanks denis for the advice, will get a pair of tyres

I reckon it'll be the 100 cpsi like mine and Stuart's. Mine also passed the MOT emissions test no probs.

This is good reading for me as Im biting the bullet and have my 4x4 1.8t booked in with Blueflame next wednesday - in the end I decided to go with a 100cel cat.

Cheers,

Lee

kinda half the reason i posted this, to let others know that it is still fine for the MOT with this system to quash any worries they may have like i built up before my mot about emissions :o

Dave,

As you know I have the complete Blueflame system, and mine has the 100 cel cat, and, as Bengies, mine sailed through the MOT, even with the aircon on.

Yep & mine sailed through as well, Ive since upgraded the cat for a bigger one with the IHI kit

Does an MOT make it go any faster, Bengie ? ;)

i havce 100 cel blueflame cat and mine passed with ease back in november

Yes because if you havent got one you always drive within the speed limit to reduce the risk of plod stopping you
