Jabba rear ARB

Featured Replies

I'd recommend it at any time.

With me being used to the handling of the back end of my car (now 2 years in my possession) I was amazed at the difference. Someone else could get in and probably not notice anything, but for me, suddenly it wanted to go round corners where before it would have started to just drift out. Whether its just giving the tyres more ability to not contort and stay in contact with the road, I'm not sure.

It just works. :D

So does it actually stop the car from wallowing in the bends? Also is it a good idea on standard suspension or would u only recommend it on uprated dampers and springs?

It would work on std suspension fine, colinD our esteemed leader said that the anti-roll bars on his octy RS made the car handle better than coilover suspension did on his old 4x4... make of that what you will!

its up to you... for what its worth, get the arb first, see how that goes.

altho eibach springs are only circa

Many moons ago I went for Uprated ARB's on my Mk2 8v Golf Gti before I did any other suspension stuff (well, not me, but Mark Yates who had just left BRM and setup MYTech) and it handled better than my friends Mk2 16V (which was lowered as standard iirc).

Obviously, nothing to do with a fab, but as with most "performance" veeehicles suspension / handling being sorted is, imho better than another 50 ponies and not having the means to make the most use of them.

Few Q's to those with this rear ARB mod:

I was also wondering what would be quicker round the b roads a fabia with modded suspension or one with a remap and standard suspension. Just curious as it seems to me lots of peeps are going for remaps on standard suspension then later needing a new clutch i wonder if a better option is sort the suspension so it doesn't handle like a boat and thus don't mess up ur engines warranty?

I think sorting out the suspension is a good option before the remap. Personally after all my mods and the improvement to the way the car handles i'm not even sure if i'm going to bother with a remap as it seems fast enough as it is. I don't drive like a nutter but I do like to push hard and probably need to slow down a little as it is, not go faster. I overtook so many cars yesterday on my drive back from Mid Wales to London my hair was standing on end without the use of gel.
