You obviously want to ignore the advice of sorting the tyres then looking at the front shocks. Go ahead and put shorter springs on it. It's your car.

Poor grip? Check the tyre condition, are they even at the right pressure? Maybe replace with quality items. 

Is the car weighed down by what you've got in it. 

Perhaps get the wheel alignment and steering checked then start to think about the suspension.

My VRS handles pretty good even though I drive like a granny most of the time I also push it a bit sometimes. 

If you're getting understeer as you say, at least that's fairly benign and now you have an idea of where the handling limits are at the moment, without learning the hard way going through some hedge or worse. 

Is it better in vrs sport mode I drive it in normal mode lol

No point it just sharpens the throttle response but won't help the suspension unless you have the optional DCC dynamic electronic magnetic dampers which can stiffen/soften the damper control of the springs.:thumbdown:And makes the steering heavier which you may like or hate. I dislike the heavier sport steering.:nod:

On the new face lifted vRS the steering isn't as heavy as the previous one. I go optional setup and have normal steering on mine when in sports mode, have DCC, big difference to normal mode when on twisty roads or on track.

But if you want better shocks and don't have DCC can recommend Öhlins VWS MT21 if your car is 2013-> , MT10 if before 2013

Not cheap but as close to a race kit you can get and still use the car on the road.

I think it handles better in the sports mode but I've never drove another MK3 vrs so maybe they aren't great handling cars

Without DCC nothing happens to the suspension on the car if you have it you feel it, big difference.

The car handles ok, it's a bit heavy in corners. On track you need to change the stance on it, spec camber

How do u know if it has DCC and for handling many out of 10 would u give it lol

It's in you car specs if you have it.
Compared to normal +2 total handling of the car 6-7 out of 10. Not close to a Porsche if that is 10.

On a track or twisty road it's fun to drive. You can't push it to much without R tires or slicks.

You have under steering  as normal with a front drive car, the diff helps a lot.

Day to day drive I go in normal mode, to bumpy in sport
