What annoys you most on the Fabia?

Featured Replies

In order of annoyance:

1) Inside Front Window Always Steamed Up (possibly seals) though the wife's Citigo is the same
2) Central locking logic now reprogrammed using Carista App to one press opens & closes everything.
3) Poor Handling around tight bends & roundabouts (need a RARB :p )

4)  Oil Problem (Now Solved)

  • Most annoying thing about the Mk.3 for me is the lack of a Vrs model with the 1.8 polo gti engine fitted.

  • Apart from the oil consumption, my main first world problem is the fan speed dial for the climate control: you turn it, nothing happens: you turn it a little more, and suddenly you're up to four notch

  • Everytime I sit it my fabia vRS I can't stop shaking my head why quite a few members on here have got rid and moved on [emoji12]

Standard head light bulbs are shocking! Upgraded to Osram Nightbreaker and much better

The (projector) headlight coverage on my 2013 Monte used to be shocking, until I found out that they were set far too low, as received from the factory. My local Škoda dealer adjusted them (FOC) to the maximum height allowed for UK MOT purposes and now they're stunning!

After nearly 4 years of ownership my biggest bugbear is the rubbish radio reception, but this may be due to living in the hilly Peak District.

I'm not saying my VRS is perfect, but I have had it for more than 5 years and I don't plan on selling it yet.

My biggest gripe is the fact that not enough other cars want to race me....

They just see a Skoda and think it's not worth the effort.

Those that do get a big shock though....

1 - VAG's total lack of honesty and transparency toward their clientele.  - and nil response to, and denial of problems.

2 - It seems that even though time continues - no progress is made in addressing or rectifying issues. Once a vehicle is sold, the best interests of the customer is low in the priority list.

3 - Many problems are continued into a later model.

4 - A dealer network that has very poor (with the exception of some) standards, and lets face it a bunch of 'technicians' with very little knowledge or deep experience of the product they are dealing with.

5 - A management structure that does not understand/realise maintenance issues, or realise the people that they employ are often incompetent.

6 - Non qualified receptionist(s) who really do not understand the relevance or value of the information being offered to them when customer explains his/her requirements and/or observations. It's the same person who cannot answer your legitimate questions when you collect the car.

Very Sorry Guys

I went off on a side-road there, and did not really address the subject raised by the original poster.

My biggest Fabia hate is the tremendous road noise transmission. I know that tyre roar varies brand to brand, HOWEVER, the almost complete lack of or poor quality/design of sound deadening causes great fatigue, and just negates so many of the good aspects of the car. I consider it so bad that I would have a good look around at other makes/options when replacement is due.
