Remove central air vent

Featured Replies

As above.  What's the correct way to get this out?  It looks like it's just clipped in butis this the case?

Acquire a long thin flat screwdriver about 10" long.... If you do not have one try Poundland.

Heat and bend the tip at right angles... about a 3mm bend from the tip.... forming a small hook.

Push the screwdriver through the vent slot and hook onto the back on the vent (where it joins the fixed car vent system. Pull the vent out... you may have to move the screwdriver to either side.

The vent is only clipped in... no screws.

Using this method you do not damage the external edges by prising the vent out.

If you look in the vent using a torch you will see the vent connection joint and you can measure the minimum hook length required.
